Cheerleading Coach

I had been looking at a posted position for several weeks about a head varsity cheer coach wanted at Gilbert Christian School. Finally, I decided to go for it...I applied last Friday...I interviewed this past Monday...and was offered the job on Tuesday!!! I couldn't believe it! This is a total God thing. I mean, I have experience being a cheerleader both as a base (high school) & as a flier (college). I also have LOTS of experience training athletes. BUT, I have never been a coach of cheer or any other sport for that matter. Yes, I said sport! lol The school has a junior high team & a varsity team. It sounds like the program really needs to be built & improve. I think I'm a great person for that job. I just pray my enthusiasm for cheer spills over into my girls. I am also very excited to be able to spiritually pour into the lives of young girls again. We will eventually be cheering for both football & boys basketball, but I think we may miss football this year with this late start. They start school next week, but since we are leaving on vacation this week I will have to meet them & their parents when I return. Please pray that God can use me to not only improve their cheer skills but also strengthen their relationship with Him. :-)
