Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday - Resurrection Sunday - was such a beautiful day!  I woke up Sunday morning feeling so emotional...so thankful...so blessed!  We had a dear family friend from Fort Wayne, Audrey Hindle, staying with my parents for the weekend.  Audrey & her family is very special to us...to me!  Her oldest son, Greg, who was one of my best friends, died his junior year (my sophmore year) in high school of Leukemia.  2 years later, my senior year, her husband, Jim, who I also was close to died of a heart attack...or what we call a broken heart due to Greg's death.  This woman is amazing...more on her in another post though...but spending the weekend with her reminiscing about my friends really brought the perspective into the Easter weekend.  Jesus death, burial, & resurrection is the reason we have hope that we know Greg & Jim are living today & we will be reunited again.

Because He Lives - Bill Gaither

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal, and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy she gives;
But greater still the calm assurance;
This child can face uncertain days because He lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

We went to a beautiful service at church and then met my parents & Audrey for lunch at a place called Crackers & Co.  Mommy wasn't too happy during lunch as Makayla got crayons ALL OVER her dress...we hadn't taken any pictures yet!  Luckily the crayon did come out & you couldn't see it on the pictures! We then met them again for dinner that night at Organ Stop Pizza.  It was such a wonderful day!!!
