A few weeks ago Makayla took a step. She stands great but gets nervous and just starts crawling. Today a few hours before Daddy got home from work, I began to work with her on walking. I stood her up & backed away from her a little bit. She then slowly walked to me step by step. Reaching my arms she fell forward into them. It was so precious! We both got so excited! She was very proud of herself as you could tell. We practiced a few more times before Daddy got home. When Daddy walked into the house, we showed him what she learned to do. He was very excited and so proud of his little girl! People keep telling me it's all over once she starts walking. I actually think it will be better than crawling. I mean, she gets into everything crawling so what's the difference? The thing that will be better is she won't have to be on her hands & knees on dirty floors. Plus the hard ceramic tile can't be comfortable...although she doesn't seem to mind. Well, it will be interesting to see how long it takes before she stops crawling all together. I think she would still rather crawl than walk, but she is making progress!
I have attached a video from today's walking. At the end of the video she does a little thing that her Great Uncle Ken Bixler taught her when he was here visiting a few weeks ago...PRECIOUS!
Makayla, Mommy & Daddy are sooooo proud of you! You are growing up so quick. We love you!!!!!
